Hello from Abbotsford - Misison by Rita Mackenzie

What have we been up to?  

Fundraising is on everyone's mind these days.  Coming up with new and inventive ways to reach out to our supportors so we can continue to support our community has been challenge.

We decided to dial it back and create small mini fundraiser and to encourage each club member to come up with a fundraiser they could run.

So far we have made facemasks, had a garage sale, ran a Purdy's and Epicure campagne and now we are planning a global paint party!  I think some of our online ideas of raising money are here to stay, even when we can get back to doing things in person.

I'm most excited to think outside the box and to get all of our members involved in some way or another.

It's been such a challenge for those that do not participate in social media or any electronic form of communication.  I keep thinking, what would it have been like if this pandemic came along in the early 80's.  It would certainly look quite different than it does today.  I am thankful to be of the sandwich generation and to know the before and after the technology boom.
